Friday Night Boozin’: Chilean Wines & Liquid Kitty
Last Friday, I checked out the Wines of Chile organized by LivetheLushLife at Westside Tavern. I’ve been following her tweets and various blogs and it seemed like a fun event. I’m not the biggest wine person (though blogs on Merlot or my recent Seattle/ Woodinville wine adventures may indicate otherwise). I just prefer to drink wine with food. And this event certainly brought the food!
My favorite of the whites was the Sauvignon Blanc from Nimbus from the Casablanca Valley.
We were noshing on delicious short ribs crostini, spicy tuna on cucumber slices and mushroom pizza. I have been to Westside Tavern before but this was the first time I really enjoyed the food. I also liked the private rooms in the back where we were.
I think I may have spent too much time on the food because I didn’t get to try any of the reds. I heard some were great though.
Afterward, some friends and I including the adorable Vixen headed out to Liquid Kitty. This non-dive bar girl loves her Kitty. I’ve been coming to the Kitty since college. And though my taste has changed, I still adore the fun nights I spend there.
Sure, we sometimes do flaming shots. Click here for a mostly dark vid but entirely hilarious of us doing “something flaming.”
Mostly, I come here for the Key Lime Martini and Mai Tai. They also great specials including a small and large martini sizing as well as happy hour deals. Check their calendar for fun theme nights where you can bring your own iPod, play Rockband or listen to a live band.
