Deschutes Brewery- Mirror Pond pale ale, Jubel 2010, Black Butte Porter
I was invited to at event at Benefit Cosmetics sponsored by Deschutes Brewery last week. The Bend, Oregon brewery came down to LA for what they called Base Camp Week. We got to taste four beers, meet Deschutes’ only female brewer Veronica Vega and nosh on pretty Deschutes Black Butte Porter cupcakes from Hot Cakes Bakes.
The Abyss
The event was also hosted by the Beer Chicks; Christina Perozzi and Hallie Beaune, and it was fun learning from them about Deschutes. I’ve been a fan of the Black Butte Porter for years and it was no surprise I would also love the Jubel 2010 and The Abyss (imperial stout). We also tasted the Mirror Pond pale ale.

Beer is such a versatile liquid. Who knew it’d be wonderful in these great dark chocolate cupcakes? They added an extra oomph. The pretzel was the perfect (and so easy!) garnish.
Benefit Cosmetics
Benefit Cosmetics generously gave us beauty treatments and makeovers. I loved these shaker shaped perfume bottles but I ended up getting their It’s Potent eye cream, POREfessional (a pore minimaliser) and a pretty eyeshadow. I’ve been admiring my tinted eyebrows for a week now. This easy treatment may have to become part of the Minty regimen.
