Silverlake Wine’s Blue Monday
I checked out Silverlake Wine for the first time a couple of weeks ago. They do three tastings a week and on Mondays they do a tasting called Blue Monday. You get to try three different wines and they provide cheese, bread and other light nibbles. If you need more food, they often have a food truck parked out front. When I went, it was the Heirloom Truck.
The place was packed! I spoke with a regular who said Mondays tend to be more mellow while the Thursday Night Flights are more popular. The Thursday nights are similar to Mondays except the three wines are of a particular category (either the same grape or from the same winemaker). The Sundays at Three tastings are more structured with four wines and one apertif. Food is paired with each glass. Reservations are required on Sundays while none are needed on Mondays and Thursdays.
I had a good time checking out the store where I discovered they also sold some gourmet prepared foods, interesting spirits and craft beer.
Sundays at Three – 3PM, $20 per person
Blue Mondays– 5-9PM, $12 per person
Thursday Night Flights – 5-9PM, $12 per person, per flight (both red and white wine flights available)
