WeHo: The Hudson Block Party Recap
I was invited to check out the Hudson’s first Block Party a few weeks ago. The block party also introduced Churchill which opens in the next few weeks. Chef Jason Tuley, formerly of Square One in Santa Barbara is the executive chef of the upcoming Churchill on West 3rd.
Churchill will serve a farmers’ market driven menu along with a craft cocktail list.
One of Chef Jason’s friends constructed the outdoor pizza oven. It takes a couple of minutes to bake the pies. Chef Jason mentioned he and four other friends each have one. What a great party idea!
I decided to go with the sausage and onion pizza. I had so many people ask me where to get it while I was waiting in line for a drink. Churchill was doing a full bar that day but I opted to try their Blue Lemonade.
Great fresh veggies on the fish tacos.
Nearby Baby Blues BBQ also joined in on the fun. We got lots of mac and cheese, ribs and a BBQ Chicken sandwich.
I liked the art and the music at the Hudson Block Party. There were also some great DJs.
Chef Jason also made three different ice creams and gelato which was much appreciated in the heat. I had the pistachio. Pictured is the vanilla apricot/peach.
I’m looking forward to checking out Churchill when it opens in a couple of weeks. For more information, check out the LA Times article about the menu.
