DTLA: Gelato at Gelateria Uli
Gelateria Uli opened at the Spring Arcade in Downtown Los Angeles in April earlier this year. I finally made it out to try some gelato. My favorite is pistachio so I use that as my baseline. I also was intrigued by the basil so I got that as well. I am the type of person who doesn’t like to sample too much for the fear of wearing out my welcome and also making the choice harder to make. It was purely by chance that I got two green colored scoops whose flavors went very well together.
The pistachio was very good but I fell in love with the basil. It tasted so fresh. I could have had two basil scoops despite my slight lactose intolerance.
I did try my friend’s chocolate and it’s exactly the sort of chocolate you want. Rich, creamy, and so velvety smooth chocolate.
I can’t wait to try the new Guisados in Downtown soon and stop by Uli for more gelato!
