Hollywood: Falafel at Pita on Vine

I love the strip mall near Sassafras Saloon. There are so many food options. One night we opted for Pita on Vine. I had a craving for stuffed grape leaves (dolmas) but when I saw the falafel plate, we had to get that. Plus we also decided to split a lamb gyro.

The falafel plate came with hummus, tahini and a mix of spicy peppers and cooling pickles. You eat just a portion of the pepper and if you’re like me, you’re in tears. Thank goodness for pickles. Or gobs of tahini. Oh, you mean the tahini goes with the falafel? Oh yes, sorry, I got distracted by all the accoutrements on the plate.

I thought this plate was a great value but would like just a little bit more lemon with the hummus. It tasted a tiny bit too flat.

The lamb gyro was perfect. The lamb was still juicy even though it was thinly sliced.

While we sat in the small shop, I noticed they got a lot of calls for pick up and delivery orders. It’s a popular neighborhood spot!
