Hollywood: Get Your Spice Fix at Luv2Eat Thai
With so many Thai restaurants in this town, it’s sometimes just easier to order from your local rather than seek out any doing anything particularly worthy. However, I’ve wanted to go to Luv2Eat ever since a friend brought some to the Hollywood Bowl this summer. Luv2Eat has gotten some buzz lately as having really spicy food. The recent success has led to them taking over the spot next door and expanding. It’s now sit-down service instead of ordering at the counter.
We ordered the green papaya salad and it was indeed spicy as hell. Yes, even the mild version. If you’re like me and like things “medium spicy” but this generally translate as “not spicy” for Thais, tell them mild. Or if you can operate with a fried brain, go ahead and order it spicy.
You might need a Thai iced coffee to calm down your inflamed taste buds.
I love the Jade noodles at Sapp Coffee Shop and always wondered where else can I get these noodles outside of Thai Town. Turns out Luv2Eat makes a great version.
Actually, you can get the green noodles with a lot of the dishes for a few cents more but I like this dry style with tons of meat.
If you have a hankering for wide flat noodles, get the ones with the pork.
When I asked our server on a recommendation on a noodle soup, she recommended the Jade noodles but since we were already ordering that, I opted for the seafood zeed noodles. I asked her what zeed meant since I saw a few dishes were marked that but I’m still not entirely sure what it means other than it’s tasty.
The soup had shrimp, fish balls, mussels, fish and squid. I laughed later when I realized the three of us all ordered noodles. Maybe next time we’ll have the fiery curries Luv2Eat is known for.
