SGV: Oysters and More at EMC Seafood

oysters!
The Food Alley at the Westfield Santa Anita mall has a stellar lineup of eateries including Monkey Bar, Side Chick, Din Tai Fung, Matcha Matcha, Uncle Tetsu Japanese Cheesecake and many more including the San Gabriel Valley outpost of the popular Koreatown favorite, EMC Seafood.
I checked out EMC a couple months back when they just opened. We enjoyed a variety of things including oysters, salmon carpaccio and clams.

salmon carpaccio
I loved the little bit of caviar on top of the salmon carpaccio. It gave the dish a little extra somethin’ somethin’.

uni toast
With the sea urchin craze fully upon us as well as eating everything on toast, it’s not a surprise uni toast is a thing at EMC Seafood. Enjoy it with nori and toast and it’s great appetizer.

truffle sliders
It’s not all seafood at EMC, we also tried out the truffle sliders. These were nice and juicy. These would be a great happy hour bite.

grilled foie gras
Foie gras at the mall? It’s a first for me and I wouldn’t sneeze at it. The port wine and truffle sauce with dried fruit was very nice with the thick slabs of foie.

clams in abalone broth
I really liked the clams in abalone broth though it was a tad bit salty.

black pepper filet mignon
There’s that beef again at a seafood joint. The black pepper filet mignon was so tender. I wished I had a bowl of rice with this dish.

uni pasta
But the desire for rice quickly disappeared with the delicious creamy uni pasta. (What’s better than uni? More uni!)

berry yogurt brulee
For dessert, we had a surprisingly light berry yogurt brulee. Keeping true to Asian traditions of a light dessert, this was a pleasant finish to a delightful seafood feast.
