Venice: Checking Out Drinks at The Lincoln

I’m Breaking Up With You First & Care Bear Stare

After dinner at Night + Market Sahm, we stopped into The Lincoln for a cocktail.

The Lincoln has been open almost a couple of years now. When you look at the back bar, it looks like cupboards of someone’s house. It has a rustic, Southern charm feel. Although they don’t serve food, there are hot dogs for the partaking. They’re open every day and a regular told me they’re even open on holidays like Christmas.

My friend and I had a drink each as we were doing the “one and done” thing. I loved the name, “I’m breaking up with you first,” which was mostly rum and champagne. My friend had the cutesy “Care Bear Stare,” which after tasting both, she said she preferred mine. Funny enough, I liked her drink better. Sometimes it just depends on your mood!

I’m Breaking Up with You First – rum, champagne, rhubarb, strawberry, lime

Care Bear Stare – vodka, rose wine, elderflower, cucumber, lemon

If I end up back on that side of town, I’d probably get the Jail Bait (rye, absinthe, Cynar, Yellow Chartreuse) drink.

But most likely you’ll find me at Scopa, Old Lightning and Old Man Bar at Hatchet Hall when I’m on the Westside.
