Silver Lake Jubilee

After my Ramen Run on the 22nd, I plan to head over to the Silver Lake Jubilee. I’m way too excited about the 30+ plus food trucks (even though I know I’m coming with a very full belly). Good thing the festival is two days and is 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.!

I’m most excited to try Frysmith,  Lake Street Creamery, Mrs. Beasley’s, Papas Tapas and Reggae Chicken. And of course hit up favorites like Dim Sum Truck, Buttermilk, Don Chow and Lomo Arigato.

But the Jubilee is not just about food. There’ll be live music on four stages. I sent over the line up to my dear friend to see what she would be into and I have on good authority to say it’s going to be hard to clone ourselves three more times to be at all 4 stages. Let’s just say we’ll go to at least a few concerts. Yeah!

And if you’re into DIY or handmade goods and missed UniqueLA, don’t fret because the Jubilee will have over 60 vendors. I can see myself already buying too much jewelery again.

There’s going to be four interactive villages themed art, eco, children and literary.

So you think you’re green? Eco-friendly? Well, this Jubilee is really for you (as if food, music and shopping wasn’t enough).  They’ve made an eco commitment and they’re encouraging everyone to bring their own cups and reusable bags. I love the idea of limited paper literature. And bring a blank tee-shirt for your own DIY Silver Lake Jubilee shirt to be screened there.

So you can’t be all eco-friendly and drive over there, right? I am looking into taking the metro in. Probably a good idea since parking might be limited.

What’s mind boggling to me is how are tickets only $5? Or you can buy various packages. Some include backstage passes and/or drinks.

I’ll see you there!
