Tater Tots & God of Carnage
Before we headed out to see God of Carnage at the Ahmanson, we stopped in for happy hour at Bar | Kitchen. I had so much fun the first time I checked out BK (after the revamped cocktail list) that I started telling everyone about it. I lured them in with talk of truffle fries and brilliant flabreads.
The happy hour menu changed slightly when I was there a couple of weeks ago so I had to of course try their Fancy Free and PDX Cocktail.
My favorite pork belly sliders are still Animal‘s but BK’s are pretty damn near perfect as well. The pork was a bit sweet, not too fatty.
We did order some other things from the reasonably priced regular menu including the truffle tater tots and artichoke hearts. Loved the chicken and chorizo skewers.
Finally the flatbreads hit the table and we were one big happy carbo-loading party. Why did we need so many carbs just to go watch theatre? Don’t ask. We just find any excuse to visit BK.
And for my theatre buffs- God of Carnage was fantastic. I loved all the actors but Marcia Gay Harden really stole the show for me.
