Beverly Hills: Industry After Hours at Chaya Brasserie
Chef Haru Kishi started Industry After Hours, a new series at Chaya Brasserie. Scheduled for the first Monday of the month, from 10 p.m. to 1 p.m., the fete this month featured free tacos with roast pigs from Lindy & Grundy. Next month, Industry After Hours will be September 12 next month since the first Monday is Labor Day.
There was also a special $5 cocktail list along with deeply discounted appetizers. Sushi rolls were as low as $3.
I was happy to see the photo booth was stashed in the corner along with props. I should have probably taken more pictures since I don’t often get to see Industry people outside of their own restaurants and bars. I had so much fun hanging out with the Sotto crew and funny enough, saw Chef Alex Reznik after dining at his restaurant a couple hours before. The rest of the crowd seemed very foodie-fashion-Industry. The other Industry, that is– film.
Lindy & Grundy look on as Chef Haru carves out meat for pork tacos. (I really apologize to Erika for the awful photo of her– I don’t know where that shadow came from).
The two pigs disappeared quickly! I find it somewhat ironic I went from a kosher restaurant to eating pork. Later Chef Haru had a tray of croquettes and once he told me they were made from “pig face,” I quickly snatched one up and ate it before I could photograph it. He high-fived me as his homegirl. He would later NOT tell others what was in it if he felt you couldn’t handle the pig face. Ha, give me more pig face, please!
I love that Chef Haru is changing things up at Chaya. The new After Hours along with guest chefs and bartenders bring an exciting night life scene to the normally quiet streets of Beverly Hills.
Can’t wait to see what they do with the next one!
Industry After Hours, every first Monday of the Month, 10P-1AM
