For the Record: Tarantino in Concert
The last time I went to a For the Record show, it was for Baz Luhrmann. I had such a great time at Show at Barre that I wondered when I would go again. I made it out to the current production, Tarantino in Concert for opening night two weeks ago.
I never realized I was such a big fan of Quentin Tarantino’s work but I love Pulp Fiction and all the Kill Bill movies. And of course the soundtracks and music are what make the movies so great.
Performers act out short scenes and sing songs from Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, Kill Bill (Volumes 1 & 2), Inglorious Basterds and more.
There’s always such energy at live shows. And the audience is encouraged to dance with cast members. I particularly loved the Vincent and Mia dance as well as Ginifer King doing her very best Elle Driver (originally played by Daryl Hannah in Kill Bill). Ginifer is a returning cast member and I first saw her in the Baz Luhrmann show as Santine from Moulin Rouge.
