A St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawl with Jameson Irish Whiskey: Melrose Umbrella Company, EP & LP and The Nice Guy
If your idea of St. Patrick’s Day involves green beer, it might be time to rethink it with this easy bar crawl Jameson Irish Whiskey put together in Hollywood. Let’s start out with drinks at Melrose Umbrella Company, everyone’s favorite spot on Melrose Avenue then mosey on over to West Hollywood to check out E.P. & L.P. The rooftop is always fun. And then we went just down the street to The Nice Guy where a celeb or two have been known to hang out.
My favorite kind of drink is brown, bitter, stirrred. This Manhattan variation with Redbreast 12 kicked off my night. I liked that genever was also incorporated and though a sweeter vermouth was used in conjunction with Benedictine, it walked the very fine line of being balanced. Also, who doesn’t like a literary reference when imbibing?

The Jameson Black Barrel frappe is delicious. It nods to Melrose Umbrella’s daytime coffee house hours and adds in a little smokey Jameson Black Barrel whiskey.
We jetted over to E.P./L.P. and got some Asian inspired eats with our Irish whiskey. Starting with a lovely coffee drink, we had some substantial bites. The sausage with Asian slaw was great.
Irish coffees are something wonderful but I really enjoyed this version on the L.P. rooftop. The stout reduction gave it some more body and it felt like an evening cocktail rather than an eye opener.

We also had pork skewers and fried tofu (not shown) with our drinks. I loved the Irish Breakfast but was glad to get a Jameson and ginger (with Mixwell ginger) to go with the flavorful food. I hear E.P. is changing the menu soon so I’ll have to swing back soon.
We had one more stop in in. We had our last drinks at The Nice Guy which has a no photos policy indoors. Of course you can get to the photo booth…
We had the Jameson Bobby Soxer. This cocktail is normally made with tequila but we were raising our glasses to good ol’ St. Patty so away we go.

Slainte! I really enjoyed this low key bar crawl for St. Patrick’s day. It goes with the Jameson motto, Sine Metu — without fear!
