Stu and The Kids Food Festival and Fundraiser Returns to Vibiana on August 5

Stu and the Kids (2017)
Stu and the Kids food fest and fundraiser returns to Vibiana on Sunday, August 5.
Chef Stu used to cook in Los Angeles and then he started a charity organization in Thailand that helps Thai children go to school. I attended last year and it was a really great event. There was live entertainment, both silent and live auctions and so much food!
Tickets start at $25 for kids 6-12 years (kids under 6 are free) and it’s $125 for general admission. VIP tickets at $225 includes a pre-event cooking demo with Top Chef Brooke Williamson.

lots of Thai and Thai inspired food
It felt like Chef Stu worked everywhere in LA because he certainly was able to get great chefs to cook for the event.

great portions
And unlike most food festivals, this one had nice sized portions and the lines were never too long for any one table which meant I got to try almost everything (I mostly skipped desserts).

don’t forget dessert!
My general advice for maximizing your food fest experience:
- get there early
- you don’t have to eat everything
- if the line is really long, try back later
- don’t forget to drink water (or wine, beer or cocktails, your choice but really, drink water)
- participate in the auctions if you can
Even if you don’t bid on any auctions, it was fun watching MC Billy Harris conduct the auctions last year. He’s really great at upping bids! There were trips to Thailand, special dining experiences at Wolfgang Puck, TV show tapings and more.

Visit Thailand
I like events at Vibiana because they make good use of both the indoor and outdoor space. If it gets too hot outdoors, head inside. Or if the lines start snaking around the tables, get some fresh air. Win win!
And yes, do it for the kids.
