The Minty’s Wonton Party: Golden Bull Noodle

Golden Bull Noodle’s wontons
As mentioned on previously, I was on my way to check out the wontons at Harlam Cafe when I got distracted by the Hainan chicken at Tasty Food. We then decided to do an impromptu food challenge with not just the wontons but also Hainan (Hainanese) chicken. Next door to Tasty Food is Golden Bull which seemed more Chinese by way of Vietnam so their food reflected the love of fried shallots.
We got a bowl of their wontons as well as Hainan chicken.
These wontons aren’t your typical Hong Kong/ Cantonese style wontons but they were very good. I loved the broth. These were totally solid and I would order them again, probably with noodles!

Hainan chicken
The Hainan chicken when compared to Tasty Food fell short. They may have had accolades and write ups in the past, but this plate was probably an average 3 out of 5 while Tasty Food is 5 out of 5. Of course, it’s still very good and I loved the rice. I just felt after not dealing with bones next door, this was a little more work to get less meat.
Still, it’s very affordable and what’s great about this food court are the many, many options. Who knows, maybe I’ll do claypot rice, noodles followed by Vietnamese dessert next time. And wontons from Golden Bull of course!
